Kozhikode: **A 50-year-old private medical clinic owner in Koyilandy, Kozhikode district, died on Monday evening after suffering an electric shock at his clinic. The deceased has been identified as Sunil Kumar, 50, owner of Loyal Health Care located in front of the LIC office on Maramuttam Road in Koyilandy. He was a resident of Sujayanivas, Thavolithazhe, Peruvattur.

According to preliminary information shared by authorities, the incident occurred around 6.30 pm on Monday. The position of the source is that Sunil Kumar received the electric shock from the UPS connected to a computer inside the laboratory of the clinic. He was immediately taken to the Koyilandy Taluk Hospital for treatment. However, doctors were unable to save his life.

Following the incident, the body was shifted to the mortuary at Kozhikode Medical College for further procedures.Sunil Kumar is survived by his father Raman Nair, mother Leela, wife Sabini, son Vedurvarad, and brother Jayakrishnan, who resides in Kuruvangad.

The Koyilandy Police have initiated further procedures in connection with the incident. As per standard protocol, the position of the police is that the body will be handed over to the relatives after a postmortem examination is conducted at the Kozhikode Medical College.

Local residents expressed shock over the sudden death of Sunil Kumar, who ran the Loyal Health Care facility on Maramuttam Road. The clinic is located in a busy part of Koyilandy town, near the LIC office.

Authorities have not released any additional details about the circumstances leading to the incident. The matter remains under the purview of the Koyilandy Police as they carry out necessary formalities.
